Tyler Baltierra is not going to stand for this violation of privacy.
Following images of his and wife Catelynn Lowell’s daughter, Carly (who was placed in adoptive care back in 2009), started spreading over the internet, Tyler addressed a message to those fans who were disseminating these leaked photos.
In a post on his April 5th Instagram story, as reported by US Weekly, Tyler expressed more than just disappointment. He said it was deeply painful and unfortunate that individuals persist in sharing photos, and now videos, of Carly.
33-year-old Tyler, father of Nova (10), Vaeda (6), and Rya (3) along with Catelynn, recently defended the couple against criticism from ‘Teen Mom’ fans over their candid approach to Carly’s complex adoption narrative.
As a lifestyle guide, I’d rephrase it like this: “Individuals and online profiles who subject Cate and me to daily harassment for openly sharing our adoption journey have taken things a step further by publicly disseminating her images and videos. For over a decade, we’ve respected the wishes of her birth parents by keeping her identity private, but it seems that respect isn’t widely shared among you all, and this reckless disregard is heartbreaking.
To clarify, Tyler and Catelynn have made it clear that they’ve experienced increasing strife in their relationship with Carly’s adoptive parents, Teresa Davis, and Brandon Davis, due to some disagreements they’ve encountered.
Tyler expressed deep sorrow for Carly and her family, acknowledging their likely disappointment. He understands that people might point fingers at him and Cate, but he reminds everyone that they aren’t responsible for sharing her images or videos; it’s been the public who has done so, which is a tragic twist in this situation.
On the Teen Mom podcast “Cate & Ty: Break It Down,” Tyler and Catelynn, both aged 33, previously discussed how social media impacted Carly’s closed adoption. Specifically, they attributed a strain in their relationship to posting an image of Carly from behind in 2023—an action they asserted had been approved by Carly’s adoptive parents.
Following an attempt by Catelynn to discuss that particular topic with Carly’s adoptive parents, she claimed that Teresa had replied via text, ” ‘Your manner of speaking towards us isn’t kind, therefore we won’t respond for a while.’
Since then, Catelynn and Tyler have maintained no communication with Carly. Consequently, they’ve made it clear that they intend to remain transparent about their relationship with her and her adoptive family.
During the podcast episode, Catelynn conveyed, “If Carly were to find out that we didn’t give up, it would be fair for her to know this fact.” She added, “This revelation sheds light on everyone connected with the adoption process.
