As a seasoned gamer with a heart that beats for both Tekken and Final Fantasy, I can hardly contain my excitement! The fusion of these two iconic universes is nothing short of a dream come true. Clive Rosfield, the valiant hero from Final Fantasy 16, stepping into the ring of Tekken 8, is an event that will undoubtedly redefine the fighting game genre.
Following the surprising revelation that Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16 is set to appear in Tekken 8, the development crews have shared in-depth Dev Talk videos containing fresh insights. You can watch these videos below for more information.
Clive’s participation in the fighting game is due to his storyline mirroring Jin Kazama’s struggle to break free from destiny. As a character emphasizing power, he employs Eikonic Abilities such as Phoenix for getting closer to opponents, Ifrit and even Leviathan from the “The Rising Tide” DLC. Notably, he also wields Ramuh and Odin, as demonstrated in the trailer.
In addition to being accessible, Limit Break significantly enhances your power. Additionally, Torgal offers assistance, extending combos and sometimes transforming into Fenrir. The upcoming stage, Phoenix Gate, may seem familiar to fans of Final Fantasy 16, as it showcases the fight between Ifrit and Phoenix in the first part. Any wall impacts will cause Phoenix to retaliate with a volley of fireballs.
As the setting evolves, it will take on a familiar image within Clive’s thoughts. With the team behind Final Fantasy 16 overseeing every step, everything appears incredibly genuine. To top it off, Clive joins the lineup with not one, but two songs from the game – “Find Your Flame” and “Away.
Today, Clive and Phoenix Gate become available for Season 1 passholders, while everyone else can access it starting December 19th. Moving forward, Season 2 is slated to debut in the spring of 2025, with Anna Williams being strongly suggested as the upcoming DLC character.
