As a seasoned Tekken warrior who’s been battling it out since the days of arcades and dial-up internet, I can’t help but be thrilled by the latest announcements from Bandai Namco for Tekken 8! The new Photo Mode features are just the cherry on top of an already impressive fighting game. Being able to go frame by frame through clips and add grimy details to my favorite fighters? Sign me up! And let’s not forget about setting custom gestures, like a well-deserved thumbs-up after a hard-fought victory.
Bandai Namco has revealed upcoming enhancements for “Tekken 8,” starting with its Winter Update and beyond. Some of these innovations include an upgraded Photo Mode that lets you step through video frames frame by frame, as well as adding somber and rain-soaked effects to the characters in your photos. Additionally, you’ll have the ability to customize various hand gestures for fighters, such as points or thumbs-ups.
Distinct enhancements include a Player Lookup feature for discovering other user profiles (and obtaining their ghost data), as well as additional levels to the Fight Pass subscription. By 2025’s early stages, the developers plan to incorporate more personalization options and fan-made artwork. You will notice your customized characters in the main menu display too. Furthermore, there’s the 30th-anniversary Fight Pass edition that offers complimentary t-shirts, along with paid options such as sprays, character skins, and additional customization items.
The highly-anticipated game Tekken 8 can now be played on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. For those who are interested, we’ve published a review of the core game. In its initial month, it managed to sell over two million copies. Additionally, it has received several free updates, as well as three new paid DLC characters – Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi.
