*Warning: contains spoilers for the Tell Me Lies season 2 finale*
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for what’s coming next in the third season of Tell Me Lies. With cameras rolling once again, the drama between Bree and Oliver promises to reach new heights! And here’s the cherry on top – Tom Ellis is reprising his role, making this season a must-watch for fans like me.
In a surprising turn of events, Season 2 concluded with a jaw-dropping revelation: Bree found out that Oliver’s wife, Marianne, had been aware of their relationship all along! It turned out that Oliver and Marianne were in an open relationship – something Oliver failed to disclose to Bree.
At the end of the series, it remained uncertain whether Ellis would reappear. Previously, show creator Meaghan Oppenheimer had expressed doubt to Variety about where they could take the story beyond that point with him.
She suggested: “Perhaps we might reintroduce Marianne, as there seems to be more story left in her character. However, I feel like we’ve come to understand that Oliver is so damaged and empty-feeling by the end of this season, I’m ready for Bree to move on from him.
One of my primary motivations for being part of this production was to challenge the common misconception that only feeble-minded or unintelligent women fall prey to manipulation by narcissists and harmful individuals. It’s not just the naive who get swept up in love; even the strongest among us can be affected.

As a dedicated film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: It seems the tale of Ellis isn’t fully spun yet! Ellis himself has announced to CBS Fest (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter) that he will indeed return to set. In fact, he’s planning to begin shooting again this coming Saturday.
He remarked, “It remains as gloomy, poisonous, and amusing as always.” And surprisingly enough, when you believed our characters couldn’t get any more absurd with their actions, they managed to outdo themselves.
Ellis hinted that viewers won’t be left unsatisfied with season 3, and further mentioned that his character will be given numerous opportunities to make amends.
He admitted that this season’s spotlight isn’t primarily on his character, but it remains quite significant in the narrative of Bree.
While specific details about Season 3 are being tightly guarded, creator J. Robert Oppenheimer hinted to Variety that viewers should brace themselves for a continuation set in the future.
She mentioned that it might lean towards a higher proportion of occurrences in 2015 compared to 2008.
