Ten Pound Poms Star Michelle Keegan Hints at Delay for Season 3

The long-awaited second season of “Ten Pound Poms” has finally debuted, paving the way for a more in-depth look at our main characters and their experiences living abroad in Australia.

Of course, speculation arises among viewers as to whether another season might be in store, but thus far, the BBC hasn’t made any official announcements. However, when asked about a potential comeback, series stars Michelle Keegan and Faye Marsay have expressed their eagerness to reprise their roles.

If the viewers find this season engaging and express a desire for more, I hope the BBC will consider another season. I’m ready and eager to participate if that happens.

Given that Keegan has just announced her pregnancy with her first child, it’s possible that the production of season 3 of “Ten Pound Poms” might experience a delay.

Regarding Season 3 expectations, Marsay added: “Absolutely. Just as Michelle suggested, we’ll have to gauge the interest and determine if it strikes a chord with the audience.

I find Michelle and Warren to be very comforting, so although the location is quite far, it seems like a wonderful community. If others are interested in seeing more, I’d certainly consider it. However, at this point, we’re unsure about future plans.

The summary for season 2 goes like this: “Following a tough first year in Australia, season 2 sees nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) and the Roberts family, headed by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown, as they embark on their journey in 1957. Despite numerous obstacles, each character is resolute to carve out a piece of the Australian dream for themselves.

In their new surroundings at Galgownie, Kate, Annie, and Terry find themselves grappling with the contrast between the dreams of life they had been led to believe in and the hardships they encounter day by day.

The Skinner family, hailing from Ireland, make an appearance in season 2, eager to embrace their fresh beginnings basking in the sunlight.

Previously, it has been disclosed that Keegan mentioned that the story of her character Kate takes a heart-wrenching turn in season 2. In conversation with the BBC, she said: “In the initial series, Kate’s son Michael was placed in the Australian foster care system and was adopted by an Australian family, which she didn’t know about. Her quest to find him is what leads her to Australia.”

The narrative of this series primarily revolves around Kate’s struggle to uncover the truth about her forced separation from her son, a situation tragically experienced by numerous families and women during the 1950s. It’s incredibly poignant and sad.

Kate isn’t only focused on assisting herself and Michael; her aim extends beyond them, too. She wishes to aid others and prevent unnecessary family separations.
