Tenured AEW Star's Contract Expiring in 2024, WWE Interest Expected

As a long-time fan of professional wrestling, I can confidently say that the Lucha Brothers are undoubtedly some of the most electrifying and captivating performers in the industry today. Their unique blend of high-flying acrobatics, intricate storytelling, and unmatched charisma has made them a fan-favorite duo across various wrestling promotions, including All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

2019 saw AEW assemble a high-profile wrestling lineup. Now, as several contracts reach their end this year, these stars find themselves in a familiar position – a contract year. The situation appears to be more competitive this time, with even established duos like The Lucha Brothers (Penta and Rey Fenix) feeling the heat. Previous reports suggested that Penta’s contract was nearing its end, but it seems both brothers are now up for renewal.

The Lucha Brothers have faced some setbacks in the tag team division lately because of injuries that have hindered their progress for the past year. Nevertheless, they’ve made a mark in singles competition within AEW: Fenix was previously crowned International Champion, and Penta has contended for the TNT Championship not long ago. Their popularity among fans is still strong, and they recently teamed up against Private Party on AEW Collision.

Being seasoned gaming veterans, it’s only natural that we draw attention from various companies. Wherever we go, we always manage to create a stir. Throughout our time with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), my partner and I have claimed the Tag Team Championships, Trios Championships, and ROH Tag Team Championships. Additionally, I’ve earned titles in AAA, MLW, HOG, TNA/IMPACT, PWG, and Lucha Underground.

In a recent interview with Comiendo Carnitas, Penta expressed his belief that the Lucha Bros revolutionized wrestling and were initially only rivaled by the Young Bucks when they first entered the scene. During their matches in the Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), the Young Bucks didn’t recognize them. The two teams shared a connection as brother duos, but maintained professionalism during matches. However, fans were already aware of who the Lucha Bros were and why they wore matching outfits and face paint. Following their match, the Young Bucks approached the Lucha Bros, expressing interest in collaborating more. According to Penta, the Young Bucks acknowledged the significance of their championship titles during this conversation.
