As a fan who has been following the terrifying journey of Art the Clown since the first “Terrifier,” I can confidently say that the upcoming third installment has me on edge, and not just because of the chilling scenes it promises to deliver. Having witnessed David Howard Thornton’s unwavering dedication to his character and the franchise, it’s no surprise that even he found one scene so gruesome that it almost made him vomit!
As a die-hard gamer, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming release of “Terrifier 3” in October. This film promises to continue the chilling tale of Art the Clown, and while the franchise is renowned for its grisly scenes, star David Howard Thornton revealed that there’s one particular scene in the new movie that left him feeling queasy enough to almost throw up on set! In an interview with Empire, Thornton kept the specifics under wraps, but did confess that there was something about this scene that gave him a hard time. Interestingly enough, everyone else found his reaction quite amusing.
Thornton expressed difficulty accepting one specific thing, stating, “It was something that made me feel queasy, almost to the point of nausea. I won’t disclose what it was, but it came close to making me retch. People found it amusing, though, as if they were saying, ‘Ah, we’ve finally got him!'”
Additionally, Thornton hinted that a particular scene within the movie might stir up quite a bit of debate.
“People are gonna be surprised by the depravity that we get up to in that scene,” he added.
In a somewhat peculiar way, it seems to reveal something about me, yet I find myself excited over the gruesome scenes. To put it differently, these situations appear as if they were drawn in a cartoon to me, and I simply enjoy experimenting with fresh ideas and concepts that are rarely explored.
What is Terrifier 3 About?
As a gamer, let me share my perspective on the official description of Terrifier 3: “In this chilling sequel, Terrifier 2, I found myself once again diving into the twisted world of Art the Clown, played by David Howard Thornton. This time, he’s back with a bloodcurdling intensity. A newcomer, Lauren LaVera, stole the show as the latest Final Girl, garnering love and fear from fans worldwide. Veteran Samantha Scaffidi returned as Victoria Heyes, and horror icons Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Chris Jericho (AEW) made shockingly memorable appearances that left audiences buzzing.”
A year after its first installment, “Terrifier 2” picks up where it left off, following the bloodthirsty exploits of Art the Clown. After being mysteriously brought back to life, Art returns to haunt the residents of Miles County once more. For this Halloween, he has his eyes set on a teenager and her younger brother, played by LaVera and Elliott Fullam. The movie offers a heart-stopping and unrelenting horror experience as it unfolds their terrifying ordeal at the hands of Art.
On September 19th, the global debut of “Terrifier 3” will take place during Fantastic Fest’s opening night. Starting October 11th, this movie will only be screened in cinemas. If you haven’t seen the first two installments yet, you can stream them on Peacock.
