The 100 Girlfriends Season 2 Trailer Shares First Look at the Anime’s New Girlfriends

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the virtual romance of countless MMOs and dating simulators, I can confidently say that I’ve never encountered a more absurd yet intriguing love story than “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You”. Having dabbled in everything from Harvest Moon to The Sims, I’ve seen my fair share of romances, but none quite like this.

In the upcoming season 2 of the anime “The 100 Women Who Truly, Deeply, Madly Love You,” which will air next year, fans have finally been given a glimpse at Rentaro Aijo’s new batch of admirers through a fresh trailer. The TV anime adaptation of “The 100 Women Who Truly, Deeply, Madly Love You” by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa premiered last year and has since been recognized as one of the standout romantic comedy series from the past few years. Unlike many romance stories where the protagonist must choose among potential suitors, this story follows Rentaro and his relationships with all his admirers simultaneously.

In the first season, Rentaro has accumulated six girlfriends, and he aims to reach his fated goal of dating one hundred soulmates unless they meet an untimely demise following rejection. The upcoming wave of girlfriends is hinted at in the trailer for Season 2 of The 100 Girlfriends Who Truly Adore You, which will air on screens starting next January. You can watch it above as the anime gears up for its comeback.

When Does The 100 Girlfriends Season 2 Release?

The second season of “The One Hundred Girls Who Truly, Deeply, Madly Love You” is scheduled to air on January 12th next year, as part of the upcoming Winter 2025 anime lineup. The team behind the first season will be returning for this installment, with Hikaru Sato directing for Bibury Animation Studio, Takashi Aoshima penning the scripts, Akane Yano designing the characters, and eba composing the music again. Additionally, the voice cast from the original season will also be reprising their roles, featuring Wataru Kato as Rentaro Aijo, Kaede Hondo as Hakari Hanazono, Miyu Tomita as Karane Inda, Maria Naganawa as Shizuka Yoshimoto, Asami Seto as Nano Eiai, Ayaka Asai as Kusuri Yakuzen, Sumire Uesaka as Hahari Hanazono, and Shigeru Chiba as God.

In Season 2 of the series “The 100 Girlfriends Who Truly Love You,” we’ll see some fresh faces: Amane Shindo portraying Kurumi Haraga, Rie Takahashi as Iku Suto, Lynn voicing Mimimi Utsukushisugi, and Kanon Takao in the role of Meme Kakure. These new characters will also come together as the Rentaro Family for the season’s opening theme, “Arigato, Daisuki ni Natte Kurete,” which you can hear snippets of in the latest trailer.

The 100 Girlfriends Is Going to Be One to Watch

If Season 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is expected to be a top pick among new releases in 2025. This unique romantic comedy sets itself apart from others as the lead character, Rentaro, takes an unprecedented approach by aiming to satisfy all his love interests rather than choosing just one. While it may seem like a challenging endeavor for Rentaro to date one hundred women, he seems undeterred in this pursuit.

He never stops working, day or night, to please everyone, and in return, they all adore him. One of his greatest achievements is that, among the numerous female characters in the series who could easily become fan favorites, he stands out as exceptional because he consistently pushes beyond human capabilities to fulfill his romantic aspirations. Moreover, this show has a lot more to offer, as audiences get to know each girlfriend better and their stories contribute to the overall flow of the narrative. It’s simply a fun, unconventional ride.
