The Accountant 2 Gets Streaming Premiere Date (Just a Month After Theaters)

Approximately a month ago, Ben Affleck’s action character Christian Wolff graced the big screen once again for one of the much-awaited sequels in the genre for quite some time. The film, titled The Accountant 2, premiered on April 25th and garnered an even warmer welcome than its 2016 original. Following its success with audiences and raking in over $100 million at the box office, The Accountant 2 is now preparing for its streaming premiere.

On Tuesday, it was announced that “The Accountant 2” will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video, beginning on Thursday, June 5th. While it’s no secret that the film would eventually appear on Prime Video, you might be taken aback by how soon the streaming date has arrived.

In a few short days, many people will have the opportunity to watch “The Accountant 2” online ahead of schedule. It’s important to mention that this streaming debut is roughly a month after “The Accountant 2” initially hit theaters. Unlike other studios extending their theatrical release windows, Amazon is eager to get its intellectual property (IP) onto its streaming platform as quickly as feasible. Notably, unlike some other Amazon IP productions like “Road House” and “Another Simple Favor,” “The Accountant 2” did receive a theatrical showing before being made available for streaming.

In the sequel to “The Accountant,” Ben Affleck reunites with director Gavin O’Connor and writer Dubuque for another thrilling tale centered around our accountant protagonist. Unlike its predecessor, this installment delves deeply into the relationship between Christian and his brother, Brax (portrayed by Jon Bernthal). As a result, “The Accountant 2” takes on a distinct feel of a buddy road trip movie combined with a heart-pounding action-thriller, offering an exciting experience that surpasses most fans’ expectations.
