2016 saw Ben Affleck playing a math savant in The Accountant, a person who has an exceptional aptitude in one particular field, such as music or mathematics, despite having significant impairment in other areas of intellectual or social functioning and was a decent enough actioner earning $155m off its $44m budget. Well now we have a sequel with The Accountant 2 trailer
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.
Co-starring are Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson and J.K. Simmons but unfortunately no Anna Kendrick this time round but Gavin O’Conner returns to direct.
The Accountant 2 will be released in the UK on 25th April 2025
