In the game The Alters, as you acquire more characters or Alters, you’ll find yourself needing to accumulate an increasing amount of resources. To do this effectively, you’ll need to enhance your base storage capacity through advanced research. By upgrading your base, you’ll unlock new research opportunities, some of which involve constructing larger storage units. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of unlocking all these options!
How To Increase Base Storage & Get Advanced Research | The Alters
To expand your storage capacity, you can construct any of the available storage modules. Here’s a comprehensive list detailing all the storage units you can unlock and assemble for this purpose:
This way, the sentence is easier to read and understand, maintaining the original meaning while making it more conversational.
- Small Storage – Available from the start of Act 1. Building it costs 30 Metals, requires 2×2 space, has a mass of 28, and adds 120 to the base’s total storage.
- Medium Storage – Research unlocked at Qubit Level 2. Building it costs 60 Metals and 10 Minerals. Requires 8×1 space, has a mass of 65, and adds 300 to the base’s total storage.
- Large Storage – Research unlocked after you research the Medium Storage. Building it costs 150 Metals and 40 Minerals. Requires 8×2 space, has a mass of 140, and adds 700 to the base’s total storage.
To clarify, it’s important to understand that the Medium Storage specifically necessitates an upgrade of your Qubit Level beforehand. This is due to the fact that as you progress through each Qubit Level, you will unlock increasingly sophisticated Research opportunities. In order to do this, you’ll have to fix and restore some Damaged Chips, which can be found in amounts of three scattered across Act 1 and Act 2.
Where to Find and How to Use the Damaged Chips
Oh, experiencing all the variations of Alters at once can be quite overwhelming! It motivates repeated playthroughs if you wish to uncover all potential scenarios involving Jans.
The damaged chip you’re looking for is initially found in Act 1. Check the location indicated on your map. It’s near the mineral deposit that plays a crucial role in the storyline.
The following Damaged Chip can be located in Act 2, as illustrated above. You’ll discover it near an Enriched Metal deposit, which isn’t too distant from the location of your base.
In Act 2, you’ll discover the third and last Damaged Chip, which is nestled deeper within the region and encompassed by a substantial anomaly in the forest. To retrieve the chip, you’ll have to be patient until the anomaly diminishes, allowing you to access and destroy its cores.
Alright, grab those busted chips and haul them back to my workshop. Fix ’em up so I can create some Qubit Chips, then slot those into my Quantum Computer to level it up. My goal here is to repair every single chip to reach the Qubit Level 4 milestone. Once that’s done, all research options will be unlocked for me to explore!
In The Alters game, you can enhance your base with Qubit Chips. This upgrade allows access to advanced research and construction of superior Storage modules in your base. Additionally, these chips are crucial for expanding the number of available Alter slots, ultimately providing you with a maximum of 6 slots.
