Natsu Hyuga’s The Failure at God School Reaches 1 Million Milestone

Unlike “The Apothecary Diaries,” which caters to seinen readers, Natsu Hyuga’s latest manga, “The Failure at God School,” unfolds as a timeless supernatural shojo narrative, albeit with Hyuga’s signature dramatic touch. This captivating series is beautifully illustrated by Modomu Akagawara and centers around an extraordinary tale about a girl named Nagi. Born completely ordinary and powerless in a world teeming with gods, Nagi’s journey promises to be as intriguing as it is unique.

In this world, it seems that nearly everyone, even my own brother, possesses powers far beyond what I can comprehend. That is, until the gaze of a deity named Tsukuyomi falls upon me. Somehow, I find myself accepted into an exclusive divine academy, where the future of our nearly dilapidated shrine and my potential as a god are at stake.

The storyline in “The Failure at God School” bears immediate resemblance to popular shojo series such as Julietta Suzuki’s “Kamisama Kiss” and Tachibana Higuchi’s “Gakuen Alice”. Given its success since the English release, it’s only a matter of time before this series has an anime adaptation of its own. Fingers crossed that Natsu Hyuga will soon add another hit anime adaptation to their belt, considering the rising popularity of the series.
