As a seasoned gamer and Marvel enthusiast with decades of comics, films, and video games under my belt, I can confidently say that Barry Keoghan‘s potential involvement in a future Spider-Man project would be an exciting addition to the MCU. His portrayal of Druig in Eternals was captivating, and the idea of him playing another Marvel character is intriguing.
Actor Barry Keoghan from Eternals expressed interest in joining another Marvel project, specifically mentioning Spider-Man during the premiere of Bird at TIFF. Co-star Nykiya Adams, who plays Saltburn alongside him, is a fan of Spider-Man and also expressed her desire to be part of this project. Keoghan suggested that they could both potentially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe together. It’s worth noting that some actors have played multiple roles within the MCU, making it possible for one or both of these actors to appear in different parts of this universe.
In the initial appearance of the MCU, they typically don’t play a significant role. In the film Eternals, Keoghan portrayed the popular character Druig, who is one of Phase 4’s most talked-about pairings with Makkari online. This year, the actor discussed his Marvel debut with GQ and even proposed concepts for a standalone project centered around his Eternal character.
In a conversation with the media, Saltburn expressed his interest: “I’d be intrigued by a film where only one character exhibits mind-control abilities.” He elaborated, “No, I mean pure, unadulterated mind-control, not for any specific reason. When it comes to superhero movies, the key is humanization. Instead of focusing on the superhero aspect, aim to reveal their human side.
Where Is Eternals 2?
It appears that there are currently no plans for Marvel Studios to produce “Eternals 2” at this point in time. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel ever since the first movie, but unfortunately, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that no such project is in the works as of now. However, for those who enjoyed some aspects of the original Eternals storyline, there may be Celestial repercussions in “Captain America: Brave New World.” While it’s disappointing news for those who wanted a continuation of the mainline Eternals story, it seems that we might not see these characters again soon.
Kevin Feige, during the promotional tour for Deadpool & Wolverine, stated that there is currently no imminent development of Eternals 2. However, he hinted at some events related to the Eternals in a recent trailer, suggesting that something colossal emerged from the sea.
