As a dedicated fan of both anime and webtoons, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming adaptation of “The Beginning After the End“. Having grown up with manga as one of my first influences, I find it truly heartwarming to see such beloved works from different origins finding their way into the world of animation.
I’m thrilled to share that as a fan, I’ve just gotten wind of an exciting update on the anime adaptation of “The Beginning After the End”! The news comes from Studio A-CAT, who also brought us “BanG Dream! Pastel Life”. This announcement was made back in October, with Keitaro Motonaga, known for his work on “Date A Live”, set to direct.
The story “The Beginning After the End” is derived from the webnovel and manhwa created by TurtleMe. This widely popular series is part of a growing trend of high-profile adaptations from manhwa, webnovels, and webtoons, with previous hits like “Solo Leveling” and “Tower of God”. The narrative follows King Grey, who, upon his demise, gets reborn as Arthur Leywin in a mystical world. Retaining the knowledge from his past life, Arthur aims to rectify the errors he made in his previous existence on the continent of Dicathen. To put it simply, after an enigmatic death, King Grey is reincarnated as Arthur Leywin on the magical land of Dicathen. Although he starts anew as a baby, his prior wisdom remains, and he strives to learn magic and chart his own path while rectifying past mistakes.
In the anime version, Keitaro Motonaga will be at the helm as the director. TurtleMe, Gabriel le Luu, Mike Zhu, and Kevin Nicklaus are involved in various key roles including story supervision and production, while Masami Sueoka is responsible for character design, and Keiji Inai composes the music.
The Beginning After the End Cast Revealed
Not only have we been treated to a stunning new trailer, but the voice actors for The Beginning After the End have also been announced. Natsumi Fujiwara will be bringing Arthur Leywin back to life with her voice. Fujiwara is famous for voicing young Damian Desmond in SPY x FAMILY. Makoto Furukawa, on the other hand, will portray King Grey, a role that made him popular in his previous life. He is best recognized for playing Taiku Oki in Dr. STONE.
TurtleMe shared their joy about the anime adaptation of “The Beginning After the End” in a post when it was initially announced. They stated, “I’m thrilled to share that The Beginning After the End is getting an anime adaptation, thanks to your fantastic backing.” Growing up with manga, they considered it a privilege to have their story acknowledged in Japan, the land where anime and manga originated, which has been one of their early writing inspirations.
The anime adaptation of “The Beginning After the End” is scheduled for release in April 2025, with no specific air date given at this point. As it premieres in Japan, viewers will be able to stream it on Crunchyroll. At present, the number of episodes has not been disclosed.
