The Best Video Game Series Of All Time

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the evolution of the video game industry has been nothing short of remarkable. From the pixelated glory days of Mario to the immersive worlds of Grand Theft Auto, each series has left an indelible mark on this digital playground we call home.

Following the unveiling of Black Ops 6, we’ve observed an assortment of responses, mostly favorable. This prompted us to reflect on the Black Ops franchise in general and its evolution throughout its existence.

As an ardent fan, I must admit that Call of Duty, overall, is a legendary and enduring gaming franchise, spanning decades. Yet, when it falters, it truly stumbles. This inconsistency has sparked quite a debate among us loyal fans, as the series seems to have evolved and perhaps slipped from its former glory over the past seven years or so. In light of this observation, I thought it would be interesting to explore other gaming series that have managed to maintain their quality without ever dipping below their own high standards.

However, there is a criteria for this, on this list you will only find games that have three or more games in, a two-game series like Red Dead Redemption will undoubtedly not make the cut. With this in mind, let’s look at what we consider to be the best video game series of all time

Mario

From the very beginning in 1983, Mario has been a timeless gaming legend. His distinctive mustache and colorful red and blue outfit remain popular even today, making him a go-to choice for Halloween costumes every year!

Over time, the games have undergone numerous modifications, featuring various versions that are consistently excellent. Mario, who represents Nintendo, has been a pivotal figure for the company for many years now. Notable installments in the series include Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros; these games are renowned and often praised as some of the best ever made.

Big Bass Bonanza

Moving on to a topic that’s quite distinct, let’s discuss the Big Bass Bonanza series, which is arguably the most renowned and played slot game out there. With more than 20 versions under its belt, this series has evolved significantly, offering players various options. You can find online jackpot games, season-specific titles, and regular variations within it. Despite being a slot game, Big Bass Bonanza certainly warrants recognition for its popularity and versatility.

Grand Theft Auto

When the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI was released, there was an uproar on the internet, as not many video game series can generate such excitement. It’s clear that GTA is one of the select few that has this powerful impact, and its status as arguably the most successful game series ever is well-established. Even with Grand Theft Auto V being a decade old, it continues to attract millions of players every week.

In essence, what sets this game apart from many others is its exceptional online component. While the compelling storylines certainly contribute to its widespread appeal, it’s the ability to play alongside friends and other players that creates chaos, a unique feature exclusively found in the Grand Theft Auto series. This interactive multiplayer aspect has undeniably played a significant role in maintaining the game’s popularity over time.

The Legend Of Zelda

In terms of game design, few series can rival the excellence of Zelda. Not only has this game series consistently boasted stunning visuals, but it has also demonstrated time and again a remarkable knack for crafting compelling and innovative stories. However, what truly sets Zelda apart is its ability to evoke powerful emotions in players.

Zelda is a game with numerous sequels, yet it consistently maintains its unique charm and appeal to gamers. Regardless of whether you’re playing Zelda for the first time or the hundredth, you’ll still experience the same captivating sensation. The exhilaration and joy that Zelda offers may very well warrant a list all on its own.
