As a dedicated gamer and film enthusiast with a soft spot for gritty dramas set in the past, I’m beyond excited that Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders” is finally coming to home video on August 13th. Having followed the film’s 20-year journey from its inception to the big screen, it’s a thrill to see this raw and captivating tale of rebellion and loyalty arrive in my living room.
Film director Jeff Nichols took twenty years to bring “The Bikeriders” to the big screen, and now that the movie has been released in cinemas this year, it will soon be available on Peacock. Featuring the impressive acting skills of Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, and Jodie Comer, “The Bikeriders” has received favorable reviews from critics, boasting an 81% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only will the film be streaming on Peacock, but it will also be released physically with extra bonus features on August 13th. Catch “The Bikeriders” on Peacock and digital platforms starting August 9th, and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD three days later.
In the film “The Bikeriders,” we delve into an era of upheaval in America where societal norms were being challenged. Following an unexpected encounter at a neighborhood tavern, Kathy (Comer), a determined young woman, finds herself inexplicably pulled toward Benny (Butler), the latest recruit to Midwestern motorcycle gang, the Vandals, helmed by the enigmatic Johnny (Hardy). As the country undergoes transformation, so does the gang. It morphs from a refuge for social outcasts into a perilous den of lawlessness, placing Benny in a precarious position as he must decide between his allegiance to the club and his connection with Kathy.
