In the past month, the long-awaited game “The Blood of Dawnwalker” by Rebel Wolves was unveiled, featuring a narrative centered around vampiric abilities. Although the specifics of its gameplay won’t be demonstrated until this summer, it has been confirmed that there is a 30-day and 30-night time limit in place – though this doesn’t mean the player will be rushed. Players can anticipate a campaign lasting approximately 30 to 40 hours, which is significantly shorter than “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” a game that the developers of this title have previously worked on.
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, the creative director, also shared insights with GamesRadar about the high-quality standard the team strives for. “Regarding quality, we certainly aspire to AAA standards, given our background and the level of quality displayed in ‘The Witcher 3’. However, it’s important to note that our games may not encompass as much content or gameplay hours due to being a smaller studio working on our first project. But what we aim for is a product that matches AAA standards in terms of quality, albeit potentially shorter.
Tomaszkiewicz commented, “Considering something as massive as ‘The Witcher’, where many players invested over 100 hours and some even reached 300, is mind-boggling. However, I question whether size should be the primary metric. After all, games like ‘Call of Duty’ are AAA titles but aren’t typically played for more than 100 hours. Whether we label them as AA or indie is debatable.
Nestled within the majestic Carpathian Mountains lies the story of Vale Sangora, where the novel The Dawnwalker’s Blood unfolds. The tale revolves around Coen, a character who undergoes a vampiric transformation in an attempt to protect his loved ones. However, he doesn’t emerge as an all-powerful hero; instead, he encounters Brencis, a formidable ruler of the region who creates challenges for our protagonist. The narrative steers clear of excessive magic, but Coen does possess potent vampiric abilities that allow him to dismantle adversaries with brutal efficiency.
Although there’s no set release date yet, ‘The Dawnwalker’s Blood’ is currently being worked on for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Keep an eye out for further information and announcements about this upcoming title.
