As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m excitedly looking forward to the return of “The Capture” on BBC One. It’s been a year since we were left hanging at the end of season 2, and I can hardly contain my anticipation for another rollercoaster ride. Holliday Grainger will be back in her role as Rachel Carey, picking up where we left off after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger.
As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Robert Grainger will be graced with the presence of his Strike co-star, Killian Scott, in the third season. The BBC has hinted at an essential part for Scott, which I can hardly wait to witness unfold on screen.
All the actors – Indira Varma, Ben Miles, Lia Williams, Ginny Holder, Ron Perlman, Nigel Lindsay, Tessa Wong, and Daisy Waterstone – will reprise their respective characters.
In addition, actors such as Joe Dempsie from Toxic Town, Andrew Buchan from Black Doves, Hugh Quarshie known for his work on Holby City, and Amanda Drew famous for her role in Gangs of London will also be part of the cast.
In Season 3, events unfold 12 months following Rachel’s live transmission of a deepfake video that revealed the UK intelligence service’s hidden video editing program, codenamed Correction, to the public.
In the midst of an investigation concerning the illegal application of a certain tool called Correction, Carey has temporarily taken over as chief of SO15. Driven by his commitment to restore public faith in surveillance technology, he is implementing a new operation called Operation Veritas, which involves a state-of-the-art camera system.

Then, an unfathomable and meticulously orchestrated act of terror strikes, directly targeting the core of the British establishment, with only a single survivor left to bear witness.
As Carey delves further into her investigation, she finds herself increasingly entangled in a developing international predicament that seems to have corrupted the British government, intelligence agencies, and news outlets. The web of deceit extends all the way to the highest echelons of power, but the question remains: who is orchestrating these secret machinations?
In a rapidly escalating hostile environment, with fewer and fewer reliable friends, what concessions might Carey be prepared to yield?
In regards to the renewal, Grainger expressed his excitement: “I can’t wait to reunite with The Capture crew again for series 3. Ben Chanan’s scripts continue to be as captivating as before, and I am eager to delve back into Commander Rachel Carey’s universe.” (Spoiler alert!)
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to jump aboard The Capture once more alongside Holliday Grainger, Lia Williams, Ben Miles, Ron Perlman, and our exceptional cast. Plus, it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome Killian Scott to our talented team!
Previously, Rachel Carey, played by Holliday’s character, has been seen probing into other people’s lives as they crumble around them. What particularly piques my interest about season 3 is that it centers Carey right in the midst of the intrigue and conspiracy.
