As a seasoned horror enthusiast who’s spent countless nights huddled under blankets while watching slasher flicks and playing survival games, I must say that The Casting of Frank Stone has left me both intrigued and slightly terrified. Having navigated through the dark corridors of Cedar Hills before, thanks to my obsession with Supermassive Games’ previous works, I can confidently say that this new title is a chilling addition to their portfolio.
The Casting of Frank Stone, Supermassive Games’ latest interactive horror title, is out now. Playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, it’s based on Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight. Check out the launch trailer below.
In the storyline, we find ourselves in the small town of Cedar Hills. The narrative revolves around four youngsters producing a horror film titled “Murder Mill.” They choose the ominous Steel Mill as their location, not just because it’s eerie but also due to its chilling past associated with Frank Stone. This infamous character haunted the town years ago for enigmatic motives.
In The Casting of Frank Stone, things take a turn for the worse at the mill, and the group must fight to survive despite overwhelming odds. This game shares similar themes with other Supermassive horror titles, incorporating skill checks reminiscent of Dead by Daylight. Additionally, an 8mm camera is utilized in select scenes. For a more comprehensive understanding, you can read our review, where we’ve rated it as 5 out of 10.
