The Chase confirms special episode to celebrate 15th anniversary and reveals air date

As someone who has grown up with The Chase gracing our screens for the past fifteen years, I can honestly say that it feels like a trusted and beloved friend, always there to provide entertainment and intellectual stimulation during those quiet afternoon hours.

As a dedicated moviegoer and TV enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that after an impressive 15-year run on the small screen, the iconic quiz show, The Chase, has announced plans for a unique, one-time-only special event this year.

On Monday, September 2nd, at 5 PM, ITV will broadcast a special episode in honor of their game show series, which was recently awarded as the Best Game Show at the 2024 TRIC Awards. This victory was achieved over popular competitors such as The 1% Club, The Traitors, and Dragons’ Den.

During its television run, The Chase broadcast over 2,200 episodes in the daytime, posing roughly 235,000 questions to nearly 9,000 different competitors.

I’m thrilled to share that my favorite series has just been given the green light in Slovenia and Romania! This brings the total number of territories where it’s been commissioned to a fantastic 21! The excitement is palpable, and I can’t wait to see how these new regions bring their unique perspectives to the story.

Michael Kelpie, Head of Potato (the ITV Studios brand behind The Chase), expressed pride over a remarkable 15-year run on television and considers it an exceptional accomplishment.

“As The Chase remains celebrated and grows in popularity worldwide, it consistently delivers top-notch entertainment to viewers across the globe.”

Currently, Katie Rawcliffe, who heads Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, stated that “The Chase” remains the most viewed program during the daytime, attracting over 9.2 million viewers weekly and being streamed over 23 million times just within the first quarter of this year.

I can hardly contain my enthusiasm! This year, I’m looking forward to joining in the festivities as we mark an incredible milestone – 15 remarkable years of our cherished show. You’ll find us airing on both ITV1 and ITVX later this year.

In this show, Bradley Walsh takes on the role of the host, while Paul Sinha becomes known as The Sinnerman, Mark Labbett is referred to as The Beast, Anne Hegerty plays The Governess, Darragh Ennis is recognized as The Menace, Jenny Ryan is called The Vixen, and Shaun Wallace earns the title of The Dark Destroyer.

The Chase’s 15th anniversary special will air on Monday 2nd September at 5pm on ITV.
