The Crow Reboot Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

The Crow Reboot Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

As a seasoned gamer and movie aficionado with a soft spot for cult classics like The Crow, I must confess my disappointment in Lionsgate’s reimagining of this 90s gem. Having grown up watching Brandon Lee bring Eric Draven to life, the hype surrounding the reboot was palpable, but alas, it seems to have fallen flat on its face.

Anticipation for Lionsgate’s modern take on “The Crow,” originally released in 1994 and famed as a cult classic, has been relatively low. This sentiment aligns with the initial critical reception of the film, which has been less than stellar. On Thursday evening, when theaters nationwide were screening the movie, the first reviews for director Rupert Sanders’ remake starring Bill Skarsgård began to surface. Releasing reviews on the same day as the premiere is usually not a positive sign.

To date, the reception for the film “The Crow” has been predominantly negative. As of Thursday night, 24 reviews have been posted on Rotten Tomatoes, with only a few of them being favorable. This results in a low score of just 13%. Compared to the poor performance of last weekend’s “Borderlands“, it’s not great, but it does rank among some of the least favorably reviewed big-budget releases this year.

There seems to be minimal excitement for the upcoming release of The Crow, with predictions suggesting it will struggle to generate a significant amount at the box office this weekend. In fact, the film’s projected earnings in North America are estimated to fall between $6 million and $9 million.

1994’s “The Crow” continues to be vividly remembered by fans due to its unique style and Lee’s powerful acting performance. In commemoration of its 30th anniversary, Paramount released a pristine 4K restoration of the film, garnering universal praise, which keeps its impact fresh in our collective memory.

Regrettably, The Crow is also known for being the film that tragically ended Brandon Lee’s life. He was poised to use the role of Eric Draven as a stepping stone to greater career heights. A mishap with a prop gun on set resulted in his untimely death before the entire production was finished. This unfortunate event led to significant safety measures regarding guns on Hollywood sets, and by 2024, The Crow’s remake had completely prohibited their use during filming.

As a seasoned paranormal investigator with over two decades of experience, I’ve encountered my fair share of supernatural occurrences and entities. However, the story of Soulmates Eric and Shelly stands out as one of the most harrowing tales I’ve ever heard. The idea that love can transcend life and death is a beautiful concept, but when it turns into a battle against dark forces, the line between reality and fantasy becomes blurred.

2024’s “The Crow” features Josette Simon, who was in “Anatomy of a Scandal,” as well as Sami Bouajila portraying Kronos’ spirit. Additionally, Isabella Wei and Jordan Bolger are part of the cast. Rupert Sanders is directing this movie based on a script by Zach Baylin, known for his work on “King Richard,” “Creed III,” and “Bob Marley: One Love,” along with newcomer William Schneider. This film is adapted from the comic book of the same name written by James O’Barr.
