At Christmas time on “Doctor Who,” it’s almost time for the yearly Christmas Special! Disney+ has shared the official trailer for this special Christmas episode, which will stream on Christmas Day. In “Joy to the World,” Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor encounters himself within the Time Hotel. There are perils and dinosaurs lurking, and the Doctor may require assistance from Joy (Nicola Coughlan) to safeguard this beloved holiday.

In the year 2024, when Joy arrives at a London hotel, she stumbles upon a hidden entrance leading to the Time Hotel. Here, she encounters peril, dinosaurs, and the Doctor. However, an ominous plot is brewing globally, perfectly timed for Christmas celebrations. In this special Doctor Who episode, the Doctor aims to spread the joy of Christmas across all worlds, a task that seems inevitable.

The Christmas Special of “Doctor Who,” titled “Joy to the World,” features Ncuti Gatwa from “Sex Education” taking on the role of the Doctor, with Nicola Coughlan from “Bridgerton” playing a character named Joy. The 1969 “Doctor Who” episode “The War Games” is being revamped with fresh colors, special effects, and updated sound and music. This revamp will extend the episodes to a 90-minute special event. Moreover, fans can witness the long-awaited regeneration of the Second Doctor (played by Patrick Troughton) into the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee), a scene that was not originally included in the episodes.
