Although fans were hoping to see a remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion during the latest Xbox Developer Direct event, it looks like we might not have to wait much longer for its release.
According to journalist Tom Warren, as reported in his newsletter for The Verge, it’s expected that the open-world action RPG remake will be released some time between late spring and early summer, according to his sources.
2023 brought whispers that my all-time favorite RPG from Bethesda, released back in ’06, was getting a fresh coat of paint, in partnership with Virtuos. The scuttlebutt suggests they’re blending the original game’s engine with Unreal Engine 5 for this project. Latest word has it that the remake will sport some sweet upgrades, like overhauls for blocking, stamina systems, archery, and sneaking mechanics, among others. As a gamer, I can hardly wait to dive back into this classic game with these promised enhancements!
Recently, a team member at Virtuos shared on their LinkedIn profile details about a secretive Unreal Engine 5 reimagining, which has only served to intensify speculations about the possible remake of the game “Oblivion”. To learn more about this topic, click here.
