The Elder Scrolls 6 Discovery May Reveal Game's Second Setting

As a seasoned fan with over two decades of Elder Scrolls adventures under my belt, I must say this recent speculation has set my heart aflutter! The prospect of returning to High Rock, a region that’s been tantalizingly mentioned but never truly explored, is akin to finding a long-lost treasure map.

The latest piece of news concerning “The Elder Scrolls 6” may hint at the location for the upcoming installment in the cherished Bethesda RPG franchise. You might recall that Bethesda initially unveiled “The Elder Scrolls VI” to the public back in 2018 during E3. Since then, it’s been relatively quiet on this front as Bethesda Game Studios had been mainly working on “Starfield” until its launch last year. Now that “Starfield” has been released, Bethesda Game Studios is now focusing on “The Elder Scrolls 6,” which means we can expect more updates and sneak peeks in the coming years. For the time being, as we’ve been doing since 2018, all we can do is engage in speculation.

In relation to this, a vigilant Reddit user on the TES VI page discovered the Pinterest accounts of two Bethesda Game Studios workers. The user notes that some of their latest pins feature armor and architecture with a European touch, which could hint towards High Rock as the game’s setting, or possibly just a part of it.

According to current conjecture, hints suggest that the majority of the game takes place within the realm of Hammerfell. Yet, as Hammerfell shares a border with High Rock, it’s plausible that we might also explore parts of High Rock in the game setting.

For those unfamiliar, High Rock is the northwesternmost area of Tamriel, inhabited by the Bretons. Part of the Tamrielic Empire, it’s been quite some time since we last encountered this region, excluding The Elder Scrolls Online. In games like Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, High Rock is merely mentioned, not explored.

Absolutely, what you see here is more like joining dots, so it should be seen with a bit of skepticism. The assumption made seems plausible, but remember, it’s just speculation. Sadly, for now, fans can only guess based on small hints. As things stand, we don’t anticipate any changes before the end of the year, but there might be a teaser trailer in 2025. However, at this point, there’s no clear indication that this will occur.
