15 years after I first embarked on an epic adventure in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, whispers have grown louder about a remastered version coming our way. This iconic RPG, initially released by Bethesda, seems to be showing its age compared to today’s gaming standards – which could explain why it’s rumored for a modern-day makeover.
The rumors surrounding a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are widely known, often discussed and even accidentally revealed at times. However, what remains unknown is its official release date. Interestingly, recent reports claim to have exclusive information about the game’s launch, although they lack specific details regarding the exact release date.
Based on recent reports, it appears that “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” may be released in June of this year, although this could potentially shift as the game has yet to be officially unveiled. At present, Bethesda and Xbox are reportedly planning for this release date. However, keep in mind that plans can change.
It’s been hinted that there could be a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and this idea has been supported by whispers (rumors) as well as leaked information. In fact, a leak occurred back in 2023, revealing the existence of such a project along with a similar one for Fallout 3. This information was obtained from internal Microsoft documents that were leaked online. However, what’s curious about this first leak is that it categorized these re-releases as remasters rather than remakes. Later rumors and leaks, though, have suggested remakes instead of remasters.
This week saw another leak confirming that the project isn’t just a remaster but a full-blown remake. Moreover, it was made clear that this remake will be available on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Contrary to some assumptions due to Bethesda’s ownership by Xbox, it won’t be exclusive to the Xbox console.
Keeping all of this in mind, it’s important to approach everything you read here with skepticism, including the recent rumor about a June launch date. This information is said to have originated from Nate the Hate, who while known, has also shown inconsistencies in the past.
As I type this up, neither Xbox nor Bethesda have weighed in on the recent rumors about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake. Given that they’ve been mum on previous speculations and leaks surrounding this potential project, it seems unlikely that they’ll suddenly break their silence now. However, should they decide to speak up, we’ll promptly update the story.
