I’m deeply saddened by the news of Humble Games publishing team being laid off. As a long-time fan and supporter of their work, it’s disheartening to see such a talented and dedicated group of individuals losing their jobs amidst restructuring at the company.
Approximately 36 members of Humble Games’ publishing team have been let go according to reports, as part of the company’s reorganization process.
Founded in 2017, Humble Games has been responsible for publishing some of the most lauded independent games over the past decade. Titles like A Hat in Time, Slay the Spire, Unpacking, and Signalis are just a few examples. Regrettably, despite its accomplishments in bringing excellent indie games to light, Humble Games has become another casualty of industry downsizing, resulting in layoffs for its staff.
Humble Games Publishing Team Laid Off Amid Restructuring
As a devoted fan, I’ve come across some disappointing news about Humble Games. Based on reports, this indie video game publisher has apparently had to let go of its entire team – a group that may consist of up to 36 talented individuals. However, it’s essential to note that an official confirmation from the company regarding the exact number of employees affected is still pending.
Despite the recent layoffs, Humble Games wants to make it clear that they are not going out of business. In an email to PSU, they stated, “To put it simply, Humble Games is not closing its doors. Instead, we’re undergoing a restructuring process.” They went on to assure that current projects and upcoming releases will remain unaffected and will continue to be supported. It’s important to note that this restructuring does not involve Humble Bundle, which operates independently from the publishing division.
