As a seasoned gamer with a knack for both virtual and cinematic adventures, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by the latest development in the world of entertainment. The streaming release of “The Fall Guy” on Peacock is like a level-up in my personal gaming journey!

Supporters of “The Fall Guy” can now relish the high-octane movie in their own homes… as long as they are subscribed to Peacock. Debuting this year, “The Fall Guy” boasts Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the leading roles; Gosling assumes the role of the main character, ‘The Fall Guy’, which is a nod to the 80s TV series of the same name. With an impressive box office haul of over $175 million globally, “The Fall Guy” has garnered some favorable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Previously available for purchase or rental on demand digitally, “The Fall Guy” is now moving to Peacock to join other Universal Pictures films.

Beginning today, August 30th, both the original and extended versions of “The Fall Guy” are now streaming on Peacock. The Extended Cut offers an extra 20 minutes not previously seen in theaters. Moreover, discussions about a sequel to “The Fall Guy” have been ongoing. As actor Ryan Gosling stated to Fast Company, “We’ve grown so fond of these characters that we couldn’t help but wonder what becomes of Colt and [Emily Blunt’s character] Jody after the film ends. We’re eager to share their next chapter if the audience is as well.” The sequel seems to have naturally unfolded, with the creators excited to continue telling the story of these beloved characters should the public embrace it enough for more installments.

What is The Fall Guy about?

Under the guidance of director David Leitch (known for films like Bullet Train, Deadpool 2, and Atomic Blonde), The Fall Guy features Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling (Barbie, La La Land, Drive) as Colt Seavers, a stuntman whose career takes a turn when he’s called back to duty following a near-fatal accident. The trigger for this recall is the disappearance of Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who starred in Bullet Train), a leading actor on a big-budget movie being helmed by Colt’s former partner, Jody Moreno, portrayed by Emily Blunt, a multiple Golden Globe winner (from films like Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place, and Sicario).

This new movie, reminiscent of the popular 1980s TV show “The Fall Guy”, boasts a star-studded cast including Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), Winston Duke (“Black Panther” franchise), and Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”). The screenplay is penned by Drew Pearce, who previously worked on “Hobbs & Shaw”. The production team includes Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, known for their work on movies like “Bullet Train”, “Violent Night”, and “Nobody”. The company behind this project is 87North Productions, with involvement also from Ryan Gosling’s production company Entertainment 360, and Guymon Casady, who has worked on shows such as “Game of Thrones” and “Steve Jobs”. The film is overseen by Drew Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz from Entertainment 360, and Glen A. Larson, the creator of the original “The Fall Guy” TV series.
