The Fallout TV series has crossed an incredible milestone

What you need to know

  • The first season of the Fallout TV series arrived on Prime Video earlier this year to critical praise.
  • The series quickly became one of the three most watched shows on Prime, and went on to win a couple of Emmys.
  • The Fallout TV series has reached over 100 million viewers so far.
  • A second season is in production, but there’s no current release date.

As a tech enthusiast who’s spent countless hours exploring the irradiated wastelands of Fallout games since the original release, I can confidently say that the success of the Fallout TV series on Prime Video is no surprise. With its gripping storylines, captivating visuals, and faithful adaptation of the iconic franchise, it’s easy to see why it quickly became one of the most watched shows on Amazon’s subscription service.

The nuclear Wasteland continues to put up impressive numbers.

The Fallout TV series has crossed 100 million viewers, as shared by the official Fallout on Prime Twitter (X) account on Wednesday. This comes just weeks after the series —produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Bethesda Game Studios, and Kilter Films, and based on the game franchise of the same name that’s helmed by Bethesda — won a couple of Emmy awards, though it and other nominees were largely locked out by the well-lauded Hulu series Shogun.

Initially, Fallout debuted solely on Amazon Prime Video back in April this year, and it swiftly climbed up to be one of the most-watched shows on their subscription platform. As of now, they are working on a second season; however, there’s no fixed date or window for when it will be released.

In my critique of the debut season of Fallout, I stated that “Fallout delivers some of the finest examples of what game-to-TV transitions can achieve, preserving the visual style, excitement, and core concepts of the legendary series while presenting diverse perspectives in a season that will leave both longtime fans and new viewers craving for more.

The Fallout franchise continues to grow

The Fallout TV series has crossed an incredible milestone

Despite the anticipation building for the second season and Fallout 5, there’s plenty of action ongoing within the realm of Fallout game series.

In specific terms, Fallout 76 continues to receive new updates and free expansions, such as the latest Milepost Zero addition, enabling players to escort caravans and ensure their safety while receiving unique rewards. Notably, Bethesda Game Studios has also declared plans to incorporate support for pets, with a future update allowing players to bring dogs and cats into their camps during the latter half of this year.

In early 2025, players can expect to assume the role of Ghouls within Fallout 76, allowing them to begin roleplaying as these irradiated mutants.

Right now, you can play Fallout 76 on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, personal computers running Windows OS, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Notably, this game is part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, just like other games published by Microsoft.
