As a lifelong Marvel fan who has eagerly awaited the arrival of the Fantastic Four into the MCU, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and anticipation upon seeing their latest holiday-themed promotions. Growing up with the Four as a staple in my comic book collection, it feels like a dream come true to see them finally getting their due on the big screen.
This week, just like everyone else, Marvel’s legendary clan is enjoying the holiday season. On Tuesday night, the authentic Fantastic Four social media platform unveiled a fresh poster for Fantastic Four: First Steps, showcasing their logo on a Christmas ornament dangling from a pine bough. The message read: “Season’s greetings from our household to yours.
The Fantastic Four are set to make their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut on July 25, 2025, and the build-up has been going on for almost a year with special holiday promotions. Fans have recently received Christmas cards from the Richards-Storm-Grimm family, following similar ones for Valentine’s Day and the Fourth of July. Each card has a vintage feel, making this one of the most nostalgic yet. This ties in with the 1960s inspired retro-futuristic style of the upcoming movie.
Regrettably, the post didn’t provide any additional details about the film itself. On Valentine’s Day, we discovered who will be playing key roles in the upcoming movie: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. We also found out that Ralph Ineson will portray Galactus, while Julia Garner will depict his herald, the Silver Surfer. Other actors include Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.
Titled “First Steps“, the film is helmed by director Matt Shakman and produced by Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. Alongside them, Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis serve as executive producers. Filming took place from July 30 of this year through to the end of November, with various sites in England and Spain being utilized. In the meantime, fans have been kept engaged by holiday cards, but it’s not until 2025 that we can anticipate seeing actual footage of the movie.
The upcoming film titled “First Steps” is poised to make a significant impact in the realm of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. It marks the long-awaited entrance of the Fantastic Four into the MCU and initiates Phase Six for the franchise. In 2025, you’ll find three MCU movies premiering, with “Captain America: Brave New World” and “Thunderbolts” belonging to Phase Five. “First Steps” stands as the inaugural movie of five films in Phase Six, which will conclude the Multiverse Saga. This phase encompasses two unnamed Avengers movies, an untitled new Spider-Man film, and a reboot of the MCU’s Blade.
On February 14, 2025, ‘Brave New World’ will premiere in theaters. After that, ‘Thunderbolts’ will follow suit on May 2, 2025. Lastly, ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
