As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I believe in the long-term success of Embark Studios’ free-to-play shooter game, The Finals. I can see it thriving over the next few years. I understand the dynamic nature of live-service games and the challenges they bring, but I’m reassured by their commitment to maintaining and expanding our gaming community through continuous updates and active engagement.
Regarding MP1st’s query on the future sustainability of the game, an Embark representative emphasized the mixed aspects – the hurdles as well as benefits – that come with continuous development.
Each year typically brings its own distinct set of difficulties. Indeed, the initial year certainly presented its fair share, as moving the team from creating a game in private to one that receives regular validation from our most discerning judges – both critics and fans – is quite a shift!
Simultaneously, it’s the most fulfilling aspect of our work. Looking ahead in the next 3-5 years, I envision us continuing to thrive, well into multiple seasons, with a larger team than before, and an increasingly impressive version of THE FINALS that just keeps improving,” they expressed.
In March, the Finals unveiled Season 6 with the title “Rising Stars.” This update introduced Team Deathmatch as a permanent feature in Quickplay, along with new weapons like the ARN-220 assault rifle and M134 Minigun. Power Shift mode now boasts larger arenas, and a fresh Battle Pass themed around classic sports entertainment has been launched.
