The First Descendant Update 1.0.4 Released, Patch Notes Revealed

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent exploring various gaming universes, I can’t help but feel both excited and intrigued by the latest update for The First Descendant. With its free-to-play model and engaging gameplay, this shooter has quickly become one of my go-to games.

As a dedicated gamer of The First Descendant, I’m thrilled to share that a fresh update has dropped today on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions. Ever since its launch about a month ago, Nexon’s been consistently rolling out updates for this free-to-play shooter at a consistent pace. Now, we’ve got another minor patch joining the ranks, along with a sneak peek into what’s coming up next in The First Descendant.

From my perspective as an avid fan, the update 1.0.4 for “The First Descendant” is quite modest in size. Nexon has merely made a few minor adjustments to several gameplay aspects and expanded the module storage capacity by an additional 500 units. However, there’s more exciting news on the horizon with Week 5’s upcoming update. Nexon intends to roll out a series of significant changes, many of which will be connected to Valby. We can look forward to welcoming a new Descendant named Luna into the game, along with an innovative new ultimate weapon and module.

At the bottom of the page, you can find the complete details of the latest update for “The First Descendant”. Alongside, we have a sneak peek of what’s coming up in Week 5.

The First Descendant Update 1.0.4 Patch Notes

Content Improvements

  • Module storage limit has been increased from 1000 to 1500.
  • Cooldown for “Vulgus Strategic Outpost” has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute.
  • Spawning time between monster respawn has been increased, and the reward amount has been adjusted at the “Vulgus Strategic Outpost”.
  • Void Fragments will now drop when defeating monsters in Special Operation. There will be the most void fragment drops at the Special Operation “Neutralize Void Experiment.”
  • Using “Mark for Arrest” item obtained from Special Operation will grant ten times the usual amount of gold. When “Mark for Arrest” is used from ‘consumable’ tab, it will convert to 100,000 gold, and “High-Value Mark for Arrest” will convert to 1,000,000 gold.

Week 5 Update Preview

Sea of Emerald, “Ultimate Valby”

After much work and dedication, the Magisters have finally finished Valby’s most ambitious project: the “Sea of Emerald” nanosuit. This innovative technology has granted Valby the satisfaction of a lifelong dream. The suit perfectly mimics Valby’s previous body color and texture, giving her a sense of familiarity and reconnection as she wears it, though it is but a thin veneer.

Ultimate Valby’s Modification Modules

  • Spiral Tidal Wave: Replaces the Bubble Bullet, which was difficult to aim, with a projectile that flies straight. Spiral Tidal Wave attracts the impurities of Gluttony, making it an excellent choice for intercepting Gluttony.
  • Hydro Pressure Bomb: Instead of “Plop Plop,” it leaps forward and deals damage to enemies around the landing area. The more enemies in the laundry state, the more powerful the damage, making Hydro Pressure Bomb a strong finishing blow. Instead of diving into the water, leap joyfully forward!

A New Descendant, “Luna”

After traveling extensively for shows, the gifted artist Luna, also known as the Mad Artist, has made her way back to Albion. Her unique synthesizer gun gains strength when synchronized with rhythmic beats, granting allies enhanced capabilities based on their experience of her performance. As Luna moves to lively tunes, allies’ skill power is amplified, while soothing melodies allow allies to recover mentally and conserve resources more efficiently. Join us in celebrating Luna’s return with an unforgettable concert. Regrettably, this may be Virgus’ final performance alongside Luna, but the extraordinary artist’s captivating act is only just getting started!

Luna’s Modification Modules

  • Nimble Footsteps: Enhances Luna’s mobility and amplifies the effect range of her performance, allowing for more effective ally support.
  • Noise Surge: Transforms Luna from a supporter to a combat dealer. Dashes towards enemies in rhythm, dealing damage to nearby enemies. When the inspiration gauge is full, summons a stage to recover mental strength and shields. Provide enemies with a terrifying musical experience with Noise Surge!

Gluttony

A larger-than-life Devourer-Gluttony, sporting mutations, feeds off Void Energy. Equipped with mining tools and a cooling mechanism, it gathers and manages the energy while dissipating the heat produced. To overcome Devourer-Gluttony, prepare defenses against its chilling abilities and take advantage of its insatiable cravings. Intercept the monster to acquire new ultimate weapons and attachments as rewards.

New Ultimate Weapon “Peace Mediator”

If meditation is essential for tranquility in Ingres’s mind, then the Peace Mediator – the latest advanced weapon – is an ideal choice. This hand cannon boasts impressive capabilities with individual shots, but also has the potential to discharge a series of bullets for intense firepower when circumstances permit.

New Ultimate Module “Arche Concretion”

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can tell you that Arche’s Concretion effect is a game-changer for certain characters, namely Luna and Ajax. This particular perk provides an intriguing trade-off between defense, mentality boost when using skills, and a decrease in movement speed and attack power.

Balance Adjustments

In our weekly update for the fifth week, we’ve chosen to tweak the balances of certain Descendants and Ultimate weapons.

To enhance the effectiveness of Valby, Blair, and Freyna on the battlefield, we will optimize their use of Area of Effect (AOE) skills. Expect these Descendants to generate expansive AOE areas with ease, allowing them to comfortably eliminate enemies from a distance. Anticipate an upgrade in their performance as wide-range support characters.

Having spent countless hours honing my skills as a seasoned gamer, I can confidently say that the upcoming enhancements to Ultimate weapons are nothing short of exhilarating. With my years of gaming experience under my belt, I’ve grown fond of certain weapons, such as Enduring Legacy (machine gun), Secret Garden (tactical rifle), and Nazeistra’s Devotion (hand cannon).

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that we’re making some enhancements to my favorite tactical rifle, Greg’s Reversed Fate. Now, its distinctive effect will trigger more frequently. And get this, we’re upgrading the functionality of single-shot weapons! Players like me can now switch between firing one shot at a time and rapid-fire mode. Can’t wait for you all to try it out!
