The Gears of War Reloaded beta is upon us, here’s how you can take part

After making a grand debut during the latest Xbox Games Showcase event, Gears of War Reloaded will revive the initial installment in the series once more.

A decade back, it underwent remastering with the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. However, in its latest iteration, the game’s quality is poised to soar even higher. Prepare for additional technical refinements that will align it with a 2025-level production standard.

The launch has been scheduled for August 26, and it will be available on Xbox, PC, cloud services, and for the very first time, on PS5. In preparation for this, there will be two beta weekends across all platforms, which aim to exhibit the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Sounds interesting? Here’s how you get in.

When are the Gears of War Reloaded beta weekends?

Regardless if you’re using an Xbox, a PC, or a PS5, the beta weekends are consistent across all platforms. Furthermore, it will also be accessible through Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce Now on compatible devices for everyone.

Here’s when you can play:

  • Weekend one: June 13 3 p.m. ET – June 15 3 p.m ET.
  • Weekend two: June 20 3 p.m. ET – June 22 3 p.m ET.

How to play the Gears of War Reloaded beta

There are three different ways you can get into the beta.

1. You can start by reserving a copy of Gears of War Reloaded on any platform it supports.

2. Additionally, you can gain access by maintaining an active subscription to either PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The last option is now having Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in your possession. Those who own it are eligible to receive Gears of War Reloaded at no cost, and distribution of the codes for this game has begun. I received my code a few days back.

To enjoy this beta version, it’s important to note that you must have bought Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before May 5th of the current year.

It’s important to note that it appears only digital pre-orders of Gears of War Reloaded grant entry to the multiplayer beta. On Xbox, there isn’t a pre-order for a physical version available at the moment, but there is one for PS5. However, it seems that this does not include access to the beta.

Currently, the beta installation for Xbox is active. For Steam users, there should be a code provided for downloading the setup, as it seems unavailable on the store at the moment.
