As a long-time enthusiast of The Grand Tour, having followed their adventures since the early days of Top Gear, I must admit that this final episode feels like the end of an era. Having spent countless hours watching these three intrepid explorers traverse the globe in search of the ultimate automotive experience, it’s hard to imagine a world without their camaraderie and wit gracing our screens every week.
Following several exciting months of build-up, Amazon’s Prime Video has at last unveiled a sneak peek into the concluding chapter of The Grand Tour series. This epic finale was shot in Zimbabwe and carries the title “One For The Road.”
As a longtime fan of Top Gear, I eagerly anticipate each new episode, and the latest synopsis has me particularly excited! In this upcoming adventure, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May disregard Mr. Wilman’s instructions and embark on an epic road trip across Zimbabwe in three coveted vehicles: a Lancia Montecarlo, Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag. I can only imagine the breathtaking landscapes they’ll encounter along their journey, from stunning vistas to challenging terrains. And with an emotional ending on a strangely familiar island, I can’t help but wonder if there’s a twist or surprise in store for our intrepid hosts. I can hardly wait to see what adventures await them and how these classic cars will hold up under the demanding conditions of their African expedition!
In a heartwarming sneak peek at their final appearance together, spanning over two decades, they’re set to bid farewell to each other on-screen.
At the end of the teaser, Clarkson says: “So, for the last time – here we go.”
You can watch the clip right here now.
The global release of the episode on Amazon Prime Video is set for September 13, 2024, which means eager fans won’t have long to wait now, just a few more weeks!
Three fresh images have been unveiled as a hint for the upcoming episode, depicting the group enjoying camaraderie in Zimbabwe. In these shots, they are seen laughing, posed with their vehicles, and relaxing around a campfire.
Earlier, Clarkson shared his reasons for leaving the show and concluding its run, stating: “I’ve taken vehicles to greater heights and explored more northern territories than any other. With cars, we’ve covered all there is to do.”
“When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”

Yet, when prompted about it, May didn’t dismiss the idea of a reunion with the trio on-screen, although he noted, “We’re all starting to show our age.”
