Forever Entertainment, the publisher behind The House of the Dead 2: Remake, has shared information about the frame rates and resolutions we can anticipate in the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. In a recent interview, Marketing and Communications Manager Monika Ginter disclosed that the standard resolution across all platforms for The House of the Dead 2: Remake will be set at 1080p.
Additionally, Ginter added that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game will aim for resolutions near 4K in actual play. For the standard PS5 and Xbox Series S, developer MegaPixel is focusing on maintaining a steady 60 frames per second (FPS). However, the PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X are striving for a smoother 120 FPS experience.
According to Ginter, our standard resolution is set at 1080p across all devices, but in reality, both versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles tend to approach native 4K. In terms of speed, we’re focusing on maintaining a steady 60 frames per second (FPS) on the basic versions of each platform. For the advanced models like the PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, the game will be capable of running up to 120 FPS for an even more fluid gaming experience on compatible screens.
In the interview, Ginter discussed the studio’s stance on technologies such as Sony’s PSSR. She mentioned that developers value any technology that can eventually enhance gameplay smoothness. Additionally, Ginter highlighted that utilizing technologies like PSSR grants the studio greater freedom in their projects.
When asked about PSSR, Ginter explained that any technology which enhances gameplay smoothness is undoubtedly beneficial, and this is particularly relevant for games like “The House of the Dead 2: Remake“, where frame rate consistency and responsiveness are crucial. Even without relying on PSSR, we’ve focused on achieving high frame rates. However, having access to upscaling techniques like PSSR provides us with extra versatility. This flexibility enables us to preserve visual quality while optimizing performance, ensuring the gaming experience remains swift and seamless across compatible hardware.
Back in June, it was announced that “The House of the Dead 2: Remake” would be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. As of now, a specific release date hasn’t been set, but we do have some details. The game will boast updated graphics and an enhanced soundtrack as part of the remake process. Interestingly, players will also be given the option to revert to the original visuals and audio if they prefer that classic feel.
After the thrilling tale of The House of the Dead, I found myself immersed in the sequel, where I took on the role of James or Gary. Together, we stepped into a once-thriving town now overrun by the undead. As members of AMS, our mission was clear: fight through legions of zombies and uncover the mystery behind their resurrection.
Initially a light gun arcade game, the remake of The House of the Dead 2, offers redesigned controls to deliver a balanced and enjoyable gaming experience without overwhelming players on controllers. Meanwhile, don’t forget to explore our write-ups about the remake of The House of the Dead.
