As a long-time fan of The King of Fighters series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when SNK announced new DLC characters for KOF XV during EVO 2024. The reveal of Vice and Mature, Rugal’s secretaries and descendants of Orochi, was a welcome surprise. I’ve followed these iconic fighters since their debut in KOF ’94 and KOF ’95, respectively.
At EVO 2024, SNK announced the arrival of not just one but two new characters for The King of Fighters 15 as DLC. These fresh faces are Vice and Mature, who hold the positions of Rugal’s secretaries and hail from the Orochi bloodline. In December 2024, players will have the opportunity to add these “special” newcomers to their roster.
In “The King of Fighters ’94,” Mature made her first appearance, known for her relentlessness. Contrastingly, Vice joined the roster in “The King of Fighters ’95,” recognized for her cruelty. Despite their differences, they both shine with powerful slashing and cutting techniques. Mature focuses on agility, boosting her speed through Hakkeshu: Light. Vice, on the other hand, is a grappler, overpowering opponents with Hakkeshu: Darkness, regardless of weight, for enhanced strength.
As someone who has been a long-time fan of The King of Fighters series, I’m both excited and intrigued by the release of The King of Fighters 15. However, I have to admit that I’m left with some uncertainty regarding whether or not all the characters will be available for free or if some will require purchase.
