The Last Guardian Creator’s Next Untitled Game Teased, Published by Epic Games

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience traversing various digital landscapes, I must say that the revelation of genDESIGN’s new game at The Game Awards this year has truly piqued my interest. Having been captivated by Fumito Ueda’s previous works like Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, and The Last Guardian, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation for this upcoming title.

At The Game Awards, it was unexpectedly genDESIGN who unveiled their upcoming game. As of now, it doesn’t have a title yet, but it is being developed under the guidance of Fumito Ueda, known for his work on games like “Shadow of the Colossus,” “ICO,” and “The Last Guardian.” This new project is being published by Epic Games and appears to be set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. You can take a look at it below.

In this scenario, an adventurous figure is observed scaling a towering mechanical giant. As a clock ticks relentlessly, a destructive shockwave approaches. From afar, they perceive its menacing advance and frantically scale the robot’s head. Their actions trigger the robot to awaken and ascend, narrowly escaping the disaster at the very last instant, as they are swept up by the shockwave’s force.

There’s not much else to go off, but the new title will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store. A release date is still to come, but with this teaser seemingly featuring “real” gameplay, it should be interesting to see how things pan out. Stay tuned for announcements and updates from The Game Awards in the meantime.
