Naughty Dog has rolled out an update for the PC edition of “The Last of Us Part 1”. This new update, version 1.1.4, may seem light on additional features, but it does incorporate support for AMD’s FSR 3.1 Super Resolution and Frame Generation technology.
As an ardent user of AMD graphics cards, hearing about these newly added features is music to my ears! It’s fantastic news because it means I can enjoy smoother gameplay with higher frame rates, all without needing Nvidia’s exclusive technology that restricts its use only to specific RTX-series GPUs.
In addition to adding fresh FSR features, this update addresses various problems as well. It resolves rendering glitches, a bug that prevented player interaction with a generator, and an issue causing Joel’s flashlight to turn off unexpectedly. Furthermore, it rectified a minor accessibility concern related to text-to-speech where the M key failed to respond. For comprehensive details, please refer to the complete patch notes provided below.
Fundamentally, The Last of Us Part 1 represents an upgraded version of the initial game, boasting enhanced graphics and sophisticated new animations. Additionally, it introduced a variety of new accessibility options. However, upon its PC release in 2023, the game faced considerable criticism due to a subpar port that was marred by various technical issues.
After its debut, Naughty Dog has been dedicated to addressing the diverse technical problems within the game. A recent update from April 2023 addressed crashing issues and improved the game’s CPU and GPU efficiency.
