It appears that HBO’s wager on their TV series adaptation of The Last of Us is definitely proving fruitful, as the recently unveiled trailer for the show’s second season has been shattering company records. In just three days following its debut, the official trailer has racked up a staggering 158 million views across all platforms, making it HBO and Max’s most-watched trailer within that timeframe for any title. As reported by The Wrap, this impressive figure represents a whopping 160% increase in views compared to any other trailers or clips related to The Last of Us.
Starting on April 13th, 2025, I can’t wait to dive back into this captivating world with the second series! Spanning over seven episodes, you can catch it exclusively on HBO and Sky. While the show will draw from some pivotal moments in “The Last of Us: Part II”, exactly how closely it will follow the game’s storyline remains to be seen. Excitingly, more seasons are already in the works, and we know that season two won’t wrap up Ellie and Abby’s tale just yet – leaving us eagerly anticipating what’s next!
