At long last, we can confirm that The Last of Us season 2 will officially premiere in the UK on Monday, April 14th. Fans should be thrilled with this news!
For quite some time, there’s been the knowledge that the second season would air on our screens in April. Unquestionably, fans will eagerly look forward to having a definite date to mark on their calendars.
The show is set to debut on Sky and NOW in the United Kingdom, and American viewers can catch the initial episode on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, 13th April.
The thrilling announcement came accompanied by three fresh character posters for the upcoming season. These previews offer a glimpse into the characters of Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey), and Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).

While they don’t exactly unveil much, they do all share the same tagline: “Every path has a price.”
Attentive viewers will catch that the ground each character is standing on varies. For instance, Joel stands on his shattered watch, Ellie on a guitar, and Abby on the Firefly symbol. Rather foreboding, don’t you think? So, we’re hooked and ready to see what happens next!

In addition to the three main characters, the Season 2 lineup features the return of Gabriel Luna playing Tommy and Rutina Wesley portraying Maria.
In addition to the main cast from season 1, there are some new faces joining us for season 2. Isabela Merced will play Dina, Young Mazino will be Jesse, Ariela Barer takes on Mel’s role, Tati Gabrielle portrays Nora, Spencer Lord is Owen, Danny Ramirez steps into Manny, Jeffrey Wright joins as Isaac, and Catherine O’Hara makes a special appearance.

In the next phase, which is five years later, Joel and Ellie find themselves embroiled in a confrontation not only with each other but also a world that’s become more perilous and unstable compared to what they initially departed from.
Lately, Francesca Orsi, who oversees HBO dramas, hinted at what we can expect in season 2 during an interview with Deadline. She mentioned, “There are specific aspects among the rival factions vying for survival that emerge as a fascinating survivalist group. I believe they possess a unique characteristic in the way they portray themselves.
The show seems to be portraying these characters in an unusual manner, with clothing and makeup choices that deviate significantly from ordinary individuals.
Although specifics about the storyline are still under wraps, the upcoming second season is likely to adhere to the overall narrative of the video game, The Last of Us Part 2. Since it’s an adaptation, however, certain variations can be anticipated between the source material and the series.
Just like last season, showrunner Craig Mazin is open to veering off the usual path with the storyline.
He shared with ComicBook.com that the upcoming events would not be the same as before. Just like this current season, there may be times when changes are drastic or minimal, but one thing is certain: it will be unique and stand on its own.
