With leaked schedules hinting at a close end to production, it is now confirmed that production on “The Last of Us” Season 2 has officially wrapped up. This signifies the beginning of the post-production phase for the eagerly awaited season.
Timothy Good, an editor for “The Last of Us”, recently shared on social media that filming for Season 2 has been wrapped up. He posted some photos from a wrap party, which was thrown to celebrate this significant achievement. The event wasn’t just attended by the crew of TLOU, but also showcased numerous elements related to the series in its venue. As for Good, it seems he can now concentrate more on his editing tasks for Season 2 as he dives into this fresh batch of episodes.
Although filming for The Last of Us Season 2 is complete, we’re unsure about its specific premiere date. HBO has only revealed that the popular series will come back sometime in 2025. However, a more precise release window within the year hasn’t been set yet. Given the timeline for Season 1, it seems highly probable that it will air during the first half of 2025.
Even if nothing more is announced, the fact that Season 2 has already been filmed implies that a longer trailer for “The Last of Us” could be released relatively soon. Earlier this month, they unveiled the initial footage from Season 2 of “The Last of Us,” which was just enough to pique fans’ interest. However, many are still eagerly waiting for a complete preview of “The Last of Us” Season 2. Although no specific release dates have been provided, we’re definitely getting closer to seeing a full-length teaser.
Meanwhile, Sony re-released The Last of Us Part II earlier in 2024 for PlayStation 5. The second season (and subsequent ones) of the TV series based on this game is scheduled to air, following the storyline from this remastered version.
