NIS America has revealed that “The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon,” formerly known as “Kai no Kiseki” in Japanese, will be released in English in January 2026. Initially planned for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, it’s also been announced that the game will be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo shared his enthusiasm in a statement, revealing that “The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon”, the newest installment in Nihon Falcom’s Trails series, will also be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. With the enhanced capabilities of the new console, players can anticipate an even more immersive gaming experience. Notably, this will be the first time the Trails series is introduced on the Nintendo Switch 2, and Kondo himself expresses great optimism for its success. Keep a watchful eye for its release!
Prices for digital purchases are still undisclosed, however, you can reserve the exclusive physical edition of the game on each platform. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is priced at $109.99, whereas the PS4, PS5, and original Switch versions are available for $99.99 on NIS America’s online store.
In continuation of the storyline from “Trails through Daybreak 2,” we find ourselves with Van Arkride and his companions back in action. Additionally, characters such as Rean Schwarzer from “Cold Steel” and Kevin Graham from “Trails in the Sky the 3rd” make their return, alongside other familiar faces among both heroes and villains.
Absolutely, if you’re concerned that there won’t be any Trails releases this year, fear not! Falcom’s re-make of the original “Trails in the Sky: Chapter 1” (which was originally known as “Trails in the Sky FC”) is set to launch in September.
