Individuals who already own or plan to buy the base game for Nintendo Switch have the opportunity to upgrade to the “Nintendo Switch 2 Version” by purchasing an upgrade package from the Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo Store, or authorized retailers. Once you’ve upgraded, you can still play the original version on your Nintendo Switch; however, only the enhanced features and content of the “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” will function on the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
