Hey there, Dark Knight! Before our beloved character Bugs Bunny turns 85 in July, he’s reaching another significant milestone: the 65th anniversary of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. To honor this occasion, which takes place from June 8 to June 14 in France, Bugs Bunny is bringing together a parade of cartoon characters from Warner Bros. Animation’s rich history. In a trailer for this year’s event, Bugs Bunny, voiced by Eric Bauza from the shows New Looney Tunes and Looney Tunes Cartoons, declares, “Joining me to celebrate animation is everyone!
As a movie enthusiast, I couldn’t help but share this exciting trailer for Annecy that I recently came across. It features Hamish Linklater lending his voice to the Dark Knight in Batman: Caped Crusader, alongside Henry Cavill as Superman from My Adventures with Superman. Also making an appearance is everyone’s favorite giant robot, the Iron Giant! If you’re a fan of these iconic characters and more, be sure to check out this trailer below. Enjoy!
In this new animated short, Bugs Bunny shares the screen with a host of other characters including Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, as well as favorites from Cartoon Network like Teen Titans GO! gang, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Craig from Creek, Steven Universe, Adventure Time crew, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends residents, The Amazing World of Gumball, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Dexter’s Laboratory.
As a cinephile, I’m reminiscing about my favorite Hanna-Barbera characters! The Scooby-Doo crew – Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma – always had me in stitches. Then there’s Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones and George Jetson from The Jetsons, two stone-age and futuristic legends! Not forgetting Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, and Top Cat, who added a touch of humor to my childhood. Lastly, the Warner Siblings – Yakko, Wakko, and Dot from The Animaniacs. These characters have been an essential part of my cartoon-watching journey!
As a movie aficionado, I can’t help but express my excitement about the annual Annecy International Animated Film Festival. It’s truly a privilege for Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe to be part of such a significant event. This year, we are honored to contribute our trailer, and I would like to extend my gratitude to Marcel Jean and the festival leadership for this opportunity. Kudos to Ben Bocquelet for his imaginative direction. We eagerly anticipate participating in this year’s festivities and celebrating the art form that means so much to us all.
The trailer for the animated film Annecy was created by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, helmed by Grant Orchard (known for Hey Duggee), supervised by French animator and mastermind behind The Amazing World of Gumball, Ben Bocquelet, and scored by the talented composer of Gumball, Ben Locket.
