As we approach the last installment of The Madness, many unanswered queries about the storyline remain.

Which individuals were responsible for the murder of white supremacist Mark Simon? Were they also pursuing Colman Domingo’s character, Muncie? Could Muncie uncover the greater forces involved in this complex and intricate situation?

Initially appearing as just a gruesome murder investigation, it eventually uncovered a far-reaching operation enmeshed in illicit activities such as puppetry of power, clandestine transactions, and dissemination of false information.

As an accused and elusive protagonist, I found myself squarely in the crosshairs of a murder investigation involving the late Mark Simon. Despite my unwavering determination to unearth the facts, I chose to stay hidden, rather than face the law, as I navigated through the intricate web of secrets that surrounded this case.

Despite keeping a low key existence with the help of his loved ones, he remained pursued. The question of who was doing the pursuing was finally answered in the eagerly awaited concluding episode.

In simpler terms, let’s explore the surprising events that unfold in the final episode of Netflix’s series, “The Madness.” Here’s a comprehensive review of how it all wraps up.

The episode begins with an intense scene where Julia Jayne (Alison Wright) unexpectedly raids Isiah’s store and home in search of Muncie and his family. She fatally wounds one of Isiah’s guards stationed outside and, upon entering, fires a shot that hits Isiah inside, sending him tumbling down the stairs to the basement.

In a surprise attack, Elena (Marsha Stephanie Blake) strikes Julia repeatedly on the head with a hard item. However, just as Elena is about to lose consciousness, Julia retaliates by firing a shot into Elena’s neck.

Thankfully, we find out that Elena and Isiah aren’t dead, but Julia is.

The following day, I found myself face-to-face with the police, who shared their discoveries with me. They had found a nerve agent in Julia’s possessions that appeared strikingly similar to the one used on journalist Laura Jennings, initially presumed to have died of a heart attack.

In the end, there’s enough incriminating data on Julia’s computer to clear Muncie, making her the prime suspect for the murders of Mark Simon, Laura Jennings, Donald Sloss Jr., Stuart Magnusson, and Raul Diaz, Magnusson’s bodyguard.

muncie informs the officers that in addition to being positive news, he possesses audio recordings confirming that Julia is not acting independently, but rather following instructions from Rodney Kraintz, who holds the position of CEO at Revitalize.

Muncie informs Demetrius (Thaddeus J Mixson) that he’s welcome to stay with him temporarily as Elena recovers in the hospital. However, during his house cleaning, Muncie notices that the media is reporting Julia as the main suspect in a multiple homicide investigation.

Despite the fact that the investigators are not pursuing leads regarding Kraintz, Muncie remains determined to target him, as something about the situation feels unsettling to him.

At the hospital, Elena openly expresses to Muncie that while she cares deeply for him, she feels it’s necessary for him to give her some space right now so she can focus on healing.

After being deeply affected by their discussion, Muncie encounters a person not previously known to him, who later turns out to be an attorney representing Kraintz. This individual approaches Muncie with a proposition: a payment of $5 million, contingent on Muncie signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), effectively silencing him about whatever information he believes he possesses.

Despite the substantial sum, Muncie acknowledges that it won’t guarantee his future safety from Kraintz. He openly expresses a desire for Kraintz to either be imprisoned or deceased, he states.

On that particular night, he confides in Lucie (Tamsin Topolski) the information that Kraintz was responsible for arranging Mark’s murder. His intention was to make The Forge hesitate or retreat from pursuing her, believing this revelation would have such an effect.

Yet, she informs Muncie that Julia didn’t come for herself but for Mark, disguised as an FBI agent. This revelation makes her feel like she played a role in his death by exposing his location.

Following the tragic suicide of Agent Franco Quinones (John Ortiz) at the conclusion of episode 6, Muncie pays tribute to him at a memorial service held at the local bowling alley. At this gathering, he receives Franco’s personal notebook, which may prove useful in obtaining additional information to aid Muncie in his investigation of Kraintz.

The following day, Muncie resumes work at CNN for a special feature, collaborating with Franco’s notes to unmask Kraintz. However, his producer advises him not to preach and instead focuses on presenting the information. Additionally, he subtly mentions the potential of having his own show if this segment is successful.

Over the airwaves, Muncie broadcasts Julia’s verbal agreement with Kraintz. It’s also noteworthy that Revitalize possesses one of the few potential cobalt mines in the U.S., a mine that would operate without regulation if the upcoming climate bill is passed next year.

Quite simply, Kraintz hired Julia to get rid of anyone who stood in the way of deregulation.

As a passionate advocate, I’ve been urging those in authority to act decisively. However, in my upcoming segment, you won’t see me as a TV pundit anymore. I feel it’s time for me to step back and refrain from fueling the chaos any longer.

At their home, Muncie and Demetrius engage in a passionate discussion regarding Muncie’s upcoming decisions. Demetrius expresses his disapproval towards Muncie appearing on television. Instead, he suggests that genuine justice would be served by tracking down Kraintz personally and confronting him with violence.

The following day, Demetrius notices a letter tucked under Muncie’s front door when he’s home by himself, prompting him to leave quickly.

Upon Muncie’s return, he discovers a letter, which is revealed to be from Lucie. She has supplied him with the whereabouts of Kraintz’s personal workspace.

Indeed, given Demetrius’ position, Muncie harbors concerns and confronts him. Catching him just before he leaps over the fence armed with a gun aimed at Kraintz, Muncie successfully convinces him to relinquish the weapon and depart.

Even so, Muncie goes to the private office for himself and is now armed with the gun Demetrius had.

Upon entering, he encounters Kraintz who claims innocence, yet reveals that he employs individuals specifically to deter people such as himself.

When Muncie encounters Kraintz, the entrepreneur confesses that he falsely accused Muncie of killing Mark Simon “since you were present”, as Kraintz had arranged for Muncie to be followed and intimidated by Julia throughout.

Although Kraintz goads Muncie into killing him, Muncie chooses to walk away.

Subsequently, it’s clear that Lucie managed to persuade the police to storm the residence where The Forge usually gather, resulting in a full SWAT team entering and apprehending them. However, one of them slips away through the backyard of the house.

In the news, Kraintz made a statement following his acquittal on all charges related to Simon’s death, as declared by the DA’s office. However, moments before he was about to enter his car with his security detail, they were all fatally shot by an escaped member of The Forge.

What happens to Muncie?

It seems that with the truth revealed and Kraintz no longer alive, Muncie appears to be moving towards a more positive situation, having stepped away from the limelight.

In a nearby high school, you can find him teaching, yet on weekends, you might spot him barbecuing burgers in the same park where he used to visit with his mother as a child. Currently, he’s enjoying time with Demetrius and Kallie (Gabrielle Graham), bringing an air of happiness back into their company once more.

However, the peace in Muncie was broken by the noise of a car with darkened windows speeding off. He suspected it might be someone connected to Kraintz’s larger circle, potentially seeking him once more.

Muncie perks right up upon spotting Elena walking towards them in the park, and their outlook seems promising as they both stand there, facing each other with a sunny future ahead.
