The Mallorca Files unveils season 3 trailer as series moves to Prime Video

As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for European mysteries, I’m thrilled to finally get a glimpse of what’s in store for us in the third season of The Mallorca Files. Having been left hanging since 2020, it’s a delight to see Miranda Blake and Max Winter back on our screens, investigating high-stakes adventures, treasure hunts, arson, kidnappings, and murders in the beautiful island of Mallorca.

Approximately three and a half years have passed since the second season of The Mallorca Files premiered on BBC One. Now, we’re given a sneak peek of the upcoming third season, which will be streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

I’m excited to share that starting on the 8th of August, all eight brand-new episodes will be released for my viewing pleasure. Meanwhile, if I can’t wait any longer, I can currently stream seasons 1 and 2 right now on Amazon Freevee.

Elen Rhys and Julian Looman are back in action for season 3, portraying British detective Miranda Blake and her relaxed German partner Max Winter. The upcoming episodes promise thrilling pursuits with elements of danger, hidden riches, arson cases, abductions, and homicides.

María Fernández Ache is coming back to play the role of Chief Inés Villegas. She’ll be supervising Max and Miranda as they navigate through their individual conflicts and unusual team dynamic.

Many renowned actors have been confirmed to make guest appearances in the upcoming season. Among them are Enrique Arce from Money Heist, Philippe Brenninkmeyer known for Mad Men, Francesc Corbera starred in Places We’ve Never Been, Charlie Higson famous for The Fast Show, Michael Jibson best recognized from Bodies, David Mora popularly seen in Memento Mori, Elena Saurel acclaimed for Buffering, and Leonor Watling, who has acted in Cities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production on the second season of The Mallorca Files had to be halted. Out of the ten intended episodes, only six were completed. It’s predicted that the final four episodes will be revised and included in season 3 instead.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the latest season was brought to life right on the beautiful shores of Mallorca. From March to July 2023, our team breathed life into each scene on location there.

The Mallorca Files isn’t unique in beginning on a single broadcasting platform and later shifting to another broadcaster or a streaming service. Shows like Lucifer, Community, and Arrested Development have also followed this path.
