As a seasoned Christmas movie enthusiast who has braved through countless holiday films, I must say that Netflix’s latest offering, The Merry Gentlemen, is a delightful addition to my list. While the quality of the film may be debatable, the soundtrack certainly is not!
As soon as Netflix begins to premiere a variety of fresh, albeit questionable, holiday movies, you’ll know that Christmas is drawing near.
Already, the streaming platform is in high gear with their fresh lineup of holiday movies for this season. The newest arrival, “The Merry Gentlemen,” has recently joined the lineup, after the premieres of “Hot Frosty” and “Meet Me Next Christmas.
It’s not surprising at all, considering the dance-centric nature of the movie, that many Christmas tunes can be found on its soundtrack. However, most of these tracks might be less recognized by viewers, as the film tends to steer clear of the traditional favorites.
To clarify, just like the movie’s title hints, there are indeed a few fresh renditions of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” included in it. However, it doesn’t abandon traditional tunes altogether.
