The Midnight Walk Announced for PS5 and PSVR2

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for narrative-driven, visually stunning games, I can’t help but feel a pang of anticipation when it comes to MoonHood’s The Midnight Walk. Having dabbled in my fair share of indie titles over the years, I’ve grown fond of the unique perspectives and creative storytelling that often come from smaller studios.

During Sony’s recent State of Play, games for the PlayStation VR2 were presented. Among them, The Midnight Walk from MoonHood caught my attention because it can also be played on the PS5. Scheduled for release in Spring 2025, this first-person narrative game will also be available on PC and PC VR systems. Developed by former members of Zoink Games who worked on Lost in Random and Fe, you can learn more about it below.

In this tale, you take on the role of The Burnt One, forming an alliance with Potboy as you traverse a world reminiscent of Tim Burton’s nightmarish landscapes. Throughout the story, menacing creatures seek to extinguish Potboy’s light, and it falls upon you to safeguard him across five distinct adventures. A striking feature of The Midnight Walk is that its visual elements are sculpted from clay.

3D models are created and stop-motion animation is utilized for motion, all items are handmade. With its peculiar characters, The Midnight Walk promises to offer an exceptionally engaging gaming experience. Keep an eye out for further updates and demonstrations of gameplay in the upcoming months.
