The Monkey – TRAILER

As a seasoned movie buff with a penchant for the macabre and a soft spot for Stephen King adaptations, I am thrilled to share my thoughts on The Monkey trailer. Having witnessed the chilling brilliance of Osgood Perkins’ recent work in ‘Longlegs’, I find myself eagerly anticipating this upcoming horror-comedy.

As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts about “The Monkey” trailer, an upcoming adaptation from the chilling short story by the masterful Stephen King. This spine-tingling tale, skillfully brought to life by director Oswood Perkins, is a reimagining of the original 1980 short story that first appeared in print.

When twin brothers Bill and Hal find their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths start. The siblings decide to throw the toy away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years.

Featuring Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, and Elijah Wood, director Osgood Perkins’ latest movie, titled ‘Longlegs’, has been a standout in this year’s horror genre. It has even surpassed other independent horrors of the last decade to become the UK’s highest-grossing indie horror film, which suggests that his upcoming production will also be successful.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my upcoming film, “The Monkey,” promises to be a comedic masterpiece unlike anything I’ve created before. It’s shaping up to resemble those classic films by John Landis, Joe Dante, or Robert Zemeckis, which is incredibly exciting! This project offers me the chance to explore the absurdity of death through a wry, humorous lens. After all, isn’t it bizarre, funny, and almost surreal that we all face the inevitability of death? Approaching this topic from a tragicomedy perspective feels fitting, as it allows us to find humor in the most unexpected places while still acknowledging the underlying tragedy.

Perkins explained, “Ultimately, if you’re aiming for less, it falls under the category of haunted or evil toys, and I never thought about making a serious one of those. To me, tackling it seriously didn’t feel authentic, so instead, I opted to go in a different direction.”

THE MONKEY WILL BE RELEASED IN CINEMAS ON 21st FEBRUARY 2025
