The new Helldivers 2 Illuminate Major Order is so important that we got a new stratagem for it

Following more than a week’s worth of dedicated work gathering and manufacturing Element-710 fuel, the Helldiver team has successfully launched the Penrose Energy Siphon into the core of the Meridian Singularity. This singularity has been steadily advancing towards Super Earth, as predicted by experts. The deployment of the Siphon has resulted in its absorption of a substantial amount of the Dark Energy powering the black hole’s progression. Now, Helldivers 2 players have the chance to put an end to this once and for all.

Originally, the Singularity was expected to halt beyond Super Earth; however, due to the impact of the Penrose Energy Siphon, it can now be stopped before it causes destruction to Super Earth or its satellite colonies. To achieve this, players need to initiate a prolonged and powerful reduction of Illuminate Dark Energy buildup by preventing six Illuminate invasions within the next three days.

According to a recent directive from the Super Earth High Command, the Helldivers have been instructed to intensely thwart Illuminate incursions over the next few days. If they manage to achieve this goal, it will safeguard Super Earth from the Singularity’s destructive trajectory. The safety of Democracy’s core is absolutely vital.

Fending off six assaults within a span of three days seems quite challenging, but the Helldivers have proven they’re up to the task. At present, we’ve successfully thwarted one attack, and another appears likely to be held off shortly after I publish this piece. With only four remaining attacks over more than two days, our chances of success in this undertaking look promising indeed.

In summary, during this mission, players have been granted free use of a tactical tool called the E/GL-21 Grenadier Battlement. This is essentially a protective barricade equipped with a grenade launcher at its peak, allowing players to take position and fire. The barricade offers protection against laser beams and other long-range attacks for both the user and their teammates. If we achieve our main objective, this tactical tool will be permanently unlocked for all players right away. Here’s a demonstration of its functionality (or you can watch it in the embedded video below).

In summary, the Grenadier Battlement appears to be an invaluable asset against the Illuminate. Its grenades prove highly efficient against swarms of Voteless zombies and ground troops commanded by Overseers, while its barrier seems robust enough to withstand a decent amount of fire from both Overseer units and can even momentarily fend off Harvesters and their destructive laser attacks. Furthermore, the cooldown period is relatively short at approximately two minutes, ensuring you can summon these fortifications frequently.

NEW grenadier battlement gameplay. from r/Helldivers

Based on the current pace, I must admit I’m quite optimistic that we won’t fail this Major Order. However, there’s always a chance that the Illuminate might launch simultaneous attacks, requiring us to spread our focus. In such a scenario, it would be essential for our community to unite on platforms like r/Helldivers and devise a well-thought-out strategy. The reason being, disorganization has been a key factor in several recent Major Order setbacks.

Although I’m thrilled about our chance to halt the Meridian black hole, I can’t shake off the feeling that trouble might be just around the corner. You won’t believe this, but players have uncovered cryptic messages suggesting a massive Illuminate infiltration. Worse still, the latest Super Earth communication labels the Singularity as a “wormhole” – essentially, a bridge between distinct locations in space. It’s beginning to look like the Illuminate is maneuvering the Singularity towards Super Earth, preparing for a full-scale assault…

It seems either we’re correct about the situation or I’m spreading an unusual message (like squid propaganda), but time will tell if we successfully complete this Major Order. If not, the forested colony of Ivis may be destroyed by the wormhole as Moradesh and Angel’s Venture were before it.

Helldivers 2 ranks among the top choices for both PC and PS5 gamers, particularly those who enjoy cooperative shooter games, high-octane sci-fi action, humorous physics stunts, and satirical humor. Normally priced at around $40, you can usually find it cheaper if you keep an eye out for deals. Currently, the most significant discount is being offered by CDKeys, reducing the price by more than $13, making it possible to purchase this explosive game for less than $30.
