For over a decade now, audiences have bid goodbye to the characters from and Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, as well as 20 years since its debut on NBC. Now, it’s been announced that work has been underway for the return of on Peacock, and one previous cast member from The Office has confirmed his involvement in the new ensemble.
As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about my favorite shows! Recently, Oscar Nuñez, known for his role as me, Oscar Martínez, joined Angela Kinsey on a talk show, and he revealed that our beloved character is set to return in the upcoming series. This new production, much like its predecessor, will maintain the unique “mocumentary” style, with the same documentary crew capturing the action. However, instead of Dunder Mifflin’s workers, this time they’ll be following a group from a struggling midwestern newspaper. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!
According to Nuñez, they’re making final adjustments and so forth. He’s thrilled beyond words about the prospect of his return in the upcoming reboot.
“More Will Be Revealed”
In simpler terms, Kinsey discussed the storyline of a new series that was developed by Greg Daniels, who is known for creating the U.S. version of “The Office,” which was originally created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Michael Koman, from “Nathan For You,” worked together with Daniels to develop this spinoff.
Kinsey inquired of Nunez, “Aren’t you going along with the documentary team to a different location?” To which he responded, “Yes, that’s correct,” but chose not to disclose any further plot points. He added, “You’ll find out more, as my wife often says.
Kinsey mentioned that she and another person, along with her, were invited by Daniels to the set of his new show. She stated, “Jenna and I dropped by the set. Greg had extended the invitation, and we made an appearance. To our surprise, not only was Oscar there, but so many of our crew members, whom we consider an extended family. It’s heartwarming to see how close we still are with them.” Kinsey portrayed Angela Martin throughout the entire run of The Office.

The Cast Was Revealed Last Year
To date, the ensemble of the spinoff features Domhall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore (from The White Lotus), Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key.
Steve Carell, who plays Michael Scott, has stated last year that he won’t participate in the reboot. In his own words: “I’ll be tuning in, but I won’t be appearing on screen. It’s a fresh start, and there’s no need for my character to be part of something like this.
The head of scripted content at NBCU Entertainment stated, “Over 10 years have passed since ‘The Office’ last aired on NBC, yet the esteemed sitcom is still growing in popularity and attracting new legions of fans on Peacock. In collaboration with Universal Television and guided by the creative minds of Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this forthcoming series, based within the world of Dunder Mifflin, presents a fresh batch of characters and a new backdrop – a daily newspaper – that promises ample opportunities for humorous narratives.
